sample zoo post tgp "zooposttgp" story: After asking what Patrice wanted to do, we started for the house finally getting there as the last bits of light bled away. I walked around the house once, looking through cracks in the boarded up windows for any signs of life. I knew that soldiers sometimes took shelter in peoples houses, whether by invitation or not, so we had to be careful. Not seeing any light I knocked on the door, more out of old habit than anything else, and having no answer, tried the knob. To my surprise, the door opened with a a long rusted screech of its hinges. I ran out to Patrice with the jar and as many others as I could carry. We sat on the floor and ate with our fingers the sweet strawberry and plum preserves I'd found. When we were finally full for the first time in weeks, I closed the door to the pantry and mentioned that we had to keep our appetites under control from now on, there wasn't enough in the room to feed us all winter, so we had to make it last. The fire had been going for about an hour and a half by this time, so the house was finally getting warm enough that we could take off our coats and go back upstairs to look around some more... continue -> zoo paysites |
